Joy and Mikes village hall wedding in Skirlaugh

September 1, 2015

I first met Joy at a local playgroup I take my children to in Skirlaugh in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We were discussing dribble and our lack of sleep when somehow we managed to have a moment to discuss outrselves and our jobs! Joy is the manager of a lovely little shop in Skirlaugh called 'SO GIFTED' which has to be the most beautiful little hidden treasure this side of Hull! When Joy found out I was a wedding photographer she knew it was fate as a local photographer had sadly let them down and they needed a replacement for their big day quick smart! I was the wo(man) for the job.

Joy headed over to my gallery page and luckily she liked my relaxed, informal wedding documentary style of photography and allowed me free reign on her and Mikes big day.

Joy and Mike married at St. Augustines church in Skirlaugh just outside of Hull. This church is a photographers dream as the light is fantastic and the Reverand Andy Simpson was a total character! The bride wore a gorgeous dress from Elite in Cottingham and the bridemaids wore various style of beige and yellow with beautiful bouquets from the Daisy Chain situated in Skirlaugh too. The groomsmen complimented the theme with matching socks and braces and gorgeous tweed ensembles!

After the service it was over to the local Skirlaugh village hall for drinks and a hog roast and dancing until dark. What a fab day! xx
